¸£Àû¼§ Hurricanes Athletes of the Week

The ¸£Àû¼§ Hurricanes have named Carrie Docherty and Makhi Magloir their athletes of the week following standout performances from the Hurricanes’ soccer and football teams.

Female Athlete of the Week: Carrie Docherty

Fifth-year winger Carrie Docherty has been named the ¸£Àû¼§ Hurricanes female athlete of the week.

Docherty had a solid weekend for the Hurricanes women’s soccer team, recording an assist in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the UKC Blue Devils.

She played well defensively while manning the backline and helping ¸£Àû¼§ build its attack. Docherty has also been a true leader on the women’s soccer team, consistently leading by example and doing the right things to help her team succeed.

Male Athlete of the Week: Makhi Magloir

Rookie receiver Makhi Magloir led the Hurricanes’ air attack Saturday in their 40-0 win over the Saint John Falcons.

Magloir led ¸£Àû¼§ in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, finishing with seven catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns.

The Hurricanes football team has another home game this weekend at 1 p.m. against the defending AFL champion Dalhousie Tigers. ¸£Àû¼§ will look for another strong performance to help secure another win.
